Disable Ubuntu global menu bar

A little while ago I asked one of my fellow developer friends what he would write about in his blog posts, since I tend to struggle to find inspiration sometimes. His answer was that he simply wrote articles as reminders for things he'd learnt or figured out along the way in our life as developers.

This is something I find quite useful as I tried it myself to remind me on how to ensure that Skype gets included in the notification bar in Ubuntu, and the amount of times I've referred back to that article has proved it more than useful. So on that note, here's another little memorandum.

How to disable the global menu bar on Ubuntu?
sudo apt-get autoremove appmenu-gtk appmenu-gtk3 appmenu-qt
